auditions for "MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS"

AUDITIONS will be held on:

Sunday and Monday, APRIL 13 & 14 @ 7PM

Auditions will be in the form of a cold reading of the script. A pdf copy fo the script can be emailed to you by contacting us at treasurecoasttheatre@gmail.com

 8pm on Friday and Saturday;

2pm on Sunday

    

A snowdrift stops the luxurious Orient Express in its tracks at midnight. By morning the train is one passenger fewer. An American tycoon lies dead, stabbed eight times, his door locked from the inside. Isolated and with a killer in their midst, and the passengers try to identify the murderer

CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS

Hercule Poirot (Male, 40s-60s) Belgian

A celebrity detective, he is incredibly intelligent and very observant. He has a flair for theatrics in the way he presents his findings and always finds a way to the bottom of a case, even when he doesn’t like what he finds.


Monsieur Bouc (Male, 40s-60s) Belgian

Charismatic  owner of the train company. He is a good friend of Poirot. He has good humour and is a well-respected businessman.


Mary Debenham (Female, Late teen-30s) British

She is romantically linked to Colonel Arbuthnot and once worked as a governess for Daisy Armstrong, a young girl who was kidnapped and murdered years before


Hector McQueen (Male, 20s-30s) American

He is the personal secretary and translator to businessman and murder victim, Samuel Ratchett. He is a nervous, anxious man and often speaks with a stutter. 


Princess Dragomiroff (Female,  60s-70s) Russian

She is regal & commanding, living a lavish lifestyle. She is a close friend of Linda Arden, the grandmother of Daisy Armstrong, a young girl who was kidnapped and murdered years before by Bruno Cassetti.


Greta Ohlsson (Female, 20s-30s) Swedish

A travel companion to the Princess, she is plain, meek and deeply religious.


Countess Andrenyi (Female, 20s-30s) Hungarian/American

Once a commoner who became a doctor, she married into the aristocracy.  She is really Helena Goldenberg, the American daughter of Linda Arden and aunt of Daisy Armstrong.


Helen Hubbard (Female, 40s-60s) American

 Larger-than-life Minnesota housewife, who is really Linda Arden, a famous actress and grandmother of Daisy Armstrong, Should be able to sing.


Colonel Arbuthnot (Male, 30s-40s) Scottish

Strong-willed military man, who is in a relationship with Mary. He once served with Daisy's father. Role is often doubled with Samuel Ratchett.


Samuel Ratchett (Male, 30s-40s) American

A middle-aged, American businessman. He has a threatening, unforgiving demeanor.  He is murdered, stabbed 8 times on the first night of the train voyage. It is discovered that he is Bruno Cassetti, a ruthless criminal. Role is often doubled with Arbuthnot.


Michel the Conductor(Male, 40s-50s) French

Skilled train conductor with a quiet sense of humor. His daughter was once Daisy's maid and was accused of Daisy's kidnapping. She committed suicide. Role is often doubled with the Head waiter.


Head waiter (Male, any age) French

Pompous and presumptious, he is the waiter at the Tokatlian Hotel’s cafe. Role is often doubled with Michel.
